This course is the second of nine courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician II exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). The student will be taught the common features of power supply including, 120/240 volt single phase and 208/575 three phase. Reading, interpreting and drawing simple wiring diagrams and schematics is covered including converting a pictorial diagram to an electrical schematic diagram. Electrical measuring instruments, how to use and interpret the readings in a practical environment is covered. Students will construct basic circuits from millivolt to 120/240 volt and measure and test the voltage, current and resistance. Finally, the student will perform troubleshooting procedures and repair defective circuits and replace components in gas appliance control circuits.
