This course is the first of nine courses that prepare the student to challenge the Gas Technician II exam as administered by Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). Students will work with piping and tubing over two inches in diameter and follow applicable code regulations. In practice, the student will construct a gas regulator, relief valve and meter train, according to drawings and follow all applicable codes and regulations. Testing and calibrating of these systems is taught and critical issues such as meter temperature compensation are covered. The student is taught how to check for and correct cylinder and tank valve leakage.
