An introduction to the study of electronic image creation and photo manipulation using the industry standard Adobe Photoshop. Students will explore the use of the software for differing applications:, photography, electronic image creation for print and web. Introductory techniques will be practiced as well as other related software introduced. Students will be provided with a foundation in digital imaging to produce clean, professional standard work for portfolio presentation. Emphasis will be placed on the various tools available in the software and their appropriate use, including layer management, layer modes and effects, basic painting, colour correction, paths, masks, shapes and patterns.
