This course is an introduction to the study and application of materials and techniques to the production of print quality line and tone illustrations. Emphasis is on the development of personal illustration skills and techniques executed to commercial standards. Students will explore the use of a variety of tools and black & white media surfaces used in commercial illustration. The course encourages the development of a method of systematic analysis and rendering of still life, life drawing and perspective subjects. Students will also be introduced to the concept of working from reference.
