Through examination of the most common investment choices and securities, the benefits and risks of investing will be examined. The various factors that affect an investment's value over time and the basic calculations regarding a security's price will also be introduced. Students will compete in a real-time investment challenge throughout the semester by investing in a realistic online portfolio. By executing different types of orders on a variety of securities, hands-on experience of the everyday issues involved in investing will be obtained.
