An advanced course in complete HVAC system design for a commercial or industrial building. The course will include further studies in applied thermodynamics, HVAC automated direct digital control systems and their relationship to a sound energy efficiency program. Topics include; computer aided design, codes, standards and regulations, load calculations, equipment selection, material compatibility, duct design, fan and pump selection, piping design, HVAC equipment selection; use of ASHRAE publications, building system evaluation and coordination, HVAC system electrical power requirements, instrumentation and the analysis of installation and operating costs.
