A course in heating, air conditioning and ventilation applications intended to develop an intermediate level understanding of the relationships between HVAC systems and associated components and a building's inherent heating, ventilating & cooling loads. Topics include weather data and design conditions, thermal conductance, resistance & heat transmission coefficients, factors effecting heat gains and losses, solar heat gains, computer assisted heating and cooling load calculations, effective use of insulating materials, estimating energy consumption, operating cost analyses and an introduction to system and equipment selection.
