A course intended to present a comprehensive overview of energy conversion technologies for fossil fuels, nuclear energy, hydro power and alternative energy resources. Included are discussions concerning the current global energy situation with regard to traditional source availability, economic and political factors and impacts on the environment. Also addressed are the advantages and disadvantages associated with realizing the potential of various alternative energy resources. Several possible national and provincial energy resource and utilization scenarios for future sustainable development are examined.
