This course introduces the student to the operation of solid state devices: rectifiers, diodes, zener diodes, voltage regulators, small signal and power transistors. An introduction to control components such as relays, sensors, motors, timers and solenoids will also be discussed. Students will learn soldering and de-soldering techniques through hands-on experience. Theoretical concepts will be reinforced through laboratory experiments.
