Advanced instruction into the use of sound in entertainment, its natural properties and physical components is provided in this course. Topics include microphones, control consoles (analogue & digital), outboard / processing equipment, live sound reinforcement techniques, amplification and distribution, loudspeaker systems (both function and design) as well as practical hands on learning. Emphasis will be placed on large scale live sound applications and the assembly of such systems.
