Entertainment Control systems are the convergence of entertainment, computing, networking principles and data communications technologies. Covered in class: basic data communications and networking principles; details of entertainment specific standards such as DMX 512, MIDI, and SMPTE Time Code; practical applications and principles of system design. Whenever possible, the class will include hands on demonstrations of the technologies discussed.
