This course is designed to introduce the student to a study of imaginative literature, particularly the novel and the short story. A major component of the course includes forms of literature and the technical elements in those forms; social, political, and cultural issues will be explored through an examination of universal themes. The student will refine his/her interpretive and analytical skills through responses to literature, oral presentation, and in personal written communications pieces.
