In this course, students are introduced to industrial networking. Students explore physical network layout and installation practices along with various network protocols and configurations. Additionally, students apply industrial network hardware for control and data acquisition in an automated industrial setting with an emphasis on EtherNet/IP. Power over Ethernet applications and devices is also examined. In the lab, students draw from theoretical foundations to install and configure network equipment.
