This course introduces the student to the basic principles and applications of pneumatics in industry. Studies begin with gas laws and physical principles of compressed air and the safety aspects involved with pneumatics. Pneumatic actuators and components utilized in the production, preparation, and control of pneumatics will be examined for their purpose, characteristics of operation and implementation in a circuit. Additionally, pneumatic circuits, circuit logic and component depiction in schematic diagrams utilizing standard symbols will be covered. Lab exercises will allow students to construct and troubleshoot pneumatic circuits.
