This course includes a review of single and polyphase power networks, pwer measurements, power factor, and power factor correction. Also included is a review of magnetic circuit principles, ac magnetic circuits and principles of electromagnetic energy transfer and conversion. DC and AC motor operation, testing, speed regulation and efficiency are covered. Considerable emphasis is placed on DC and AC rotating machine construction and operating characteristics in the areas of torque, equivalent circuits, and control applications. Lab projects and exercises support the material covered in the lecture portion of the course.
