This course will introduce the students to open and closed control systems and their implementation. Topics are associated with electrical control of machine controls and include such topics as electrical relay logic diagrams, industrial sensors (e.g. temperature and pressure), actuators (e.g. solenoids and position indicators), and the fundamentals of dc and ac motor control. An introduction to programmable logic controllers will also be discussed, as well as control transformers and motor starters.
