This is an electronic, lecture/laboratory CAD course for the electronics technology students. Topics include review of Windows operating system commands, the use of schematic capture software to produce electronic schematic diagrams, the use of simulation software to demonstrate the operation of the circuits drawn and an introduction to troubleshooting techniques. The student will also learn how to use the various utility programs to produce parts list, and net-lists to be used by printed circuit board layout software. The latter part of the course will give the student an introduction to PCB layout software, which enables the individual to produce camera ready artwork.
