This course introduces the student to basic electrical principles. Topics include calculations using powers of ten; metric prefixes; Ohm's Law; Loop and Nodal analysis; Kirchhoff's circuit laws; usage of Thevenin's, Norton's and Superposition Theorems to solve DC problems; introduction to AC waveforms and associated parameters; solving phasor problems; and solving sinusoidal wave-excited RC and RL circuits. The student will also learn to identify, select and apply passive components for DC and AC circuits in order to fulfill functional specifications
