This course prepares students to enter the field of Special Education by introducing them to the educational structure, and enabling them to explore past and current philosophies and issues. The focus will be on Ministry guidelines for programs and services, service delivery models, and curriculum modification issues. Current topics such as inclusionary practices, advocacy, universal instructional design and the exceptional student in society will be explored.
