This general education course embraces basic nutrition theory with the primary focus on learning to select foods that satisfy your personal nutrient and energy needs, and the nutritional needs of one's family from infancy to adolescence, and through to adulthood. The relationship between nutrition and fitness, lifestyle diseases, weight control, and eating disorders will be explored. During the course, the student will also have an opportunity to research a nutrition topic of his/ her choice and present the information to classmates.
