A theoretical and laboratory course designed to acquaint the dental hygiene student with dental materials commonly used within the dental office., Emphasis is placed on the adaptation of materials in the prevention and treatment of oral disease, and the possible effects of dental materials on human tissue. Laboratory time will allow for manipulation and fabrication of several lab projects along with exposure to a variety of dental materials.
