This course introduces a conceptual foundation of networking and connectivity. It will provide the principal foundation of Ethernet models. Key topics include Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) layers, and fundamentals like the structure of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing. Students will design and assemble simple LAN topologies and implement such concepts as IP addressing schemes. Students will learn to work with network investigation tools to analyze network traffic.
