The course will familiarize students with practices and procedures that enhance physical security and provide for the safety of staff and offender populations in custody. Legislation, relevant to use the force, defensive tactics policy, and the response to conflict models will be examined. Physical techniques such as self-defence, searching and the application of restraints will be demonstrated in a practical setting.
