This course provides students with practical guidelines, as well as established rules, for developing verbal, written, and nonverbal communication, competence required of one working in any field of law enforcement. The students will become familiar with the entire communications process and its field components. The importance of effective law enforcement related communications is stressed starting with the incorporation of correct use of basic grammar, spelling and sentence structure and culminates in the preparation of reports, memos and lecture. In addition, students will develop effective listening skills and oral communication skills as they relate to field experience.
