This course teaches numerous computer and calculator applications that support other Chem Lab Tech courses including Analytical chemistry, Organic chemistry, Industrial Control Systems and Industrial chemistry. Topics include advanced internet searching techniques, investigating and authoring a technical paper using MS Word, investigating and preparing a chemical career presentation using MS Power Point, and designing and searching a chemical data base using MS Access. In addition, MS Excel will be used for various graphing and numeric applications including sorting and filtering data, SPC charting, curve fitting, forecasting and evaluating lab data, balancing chemical and process reactions, and spread sheet calculations for acidimetry, potentiometry, spectroscopy and nephelometry.
