Students enrolled in this course start the semester with an introduction to shop safety, standard and precision measurement, and benchwork and hand tools. Next, an introduction to the theory related to the following machine tools; drill press, power saw, pedestal grinder, CNC milling center, and CNC and/or conventional lathe. This course is to be taken as a co-requisite to the practical shop course and the basic CNC programming course.
