The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the discipline of international market research. Information gathering can take many forms and has many sources including: published sources, searching electronic databases, networking with colleagues, customers, suppliers and competitors or conducting interviews, focus groups and surveys. Students will be introduced to the role, value and techniques of international trade research and apply their knowledge to the preparation of a trade research report. Students will chose a product and apply their research methods to analyze two countries and chose one of the two as the best prospect for marketing their product.
