The hospitality industry plays a vital role to the economy of the twenty-first century and demographic trends indicate that it will continue to grow as the population ages and has more disposable income and time. This course is designed to provide an overview of the various facets of the hospitality industry including tourism, hotels, restaurants, managed services, gaming, and conventions. Success in the hospitality field depends on an understanding of the various aspects of hospitality and the skills and attributes needed for continued career success; in addition to providing an orientation to the profession, emphasis will also be placed on developing these vital career skills.
