Risk Management Patient Safety Standards and Ethics

This course introduces students to the fields of risk management, standards and patient safety. Students will learn about patient safety adverse events, including definitions and reporting systems. Additionally, students will examine strategies to reduce risk and improve patient safety, apply standards for medical technology management and equipment performance, and discuss ethics and medical/legal issues around the improper use and alteration of equipment.
