This introductory course allows the participant to study Ergonomics as a science and to discover how it affects our everyday lives. The participant will look at ergonomic issues, workplace law and Anthropometrics, and the quantification of human movement. Students will develop skills specific to the identification, quantification and correction of ergonomic hazards as they apply to workplace and its design. Current issues affecting people will be dealt with including cumulative trauma disorders and the demand of technology and equipment. This course will also allow students to study the Ontario Health and Safety Act and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) as it applies to Ontario workers.
