The purpose of this intensive four-month work term is threefold: to practice, enlighten and strengthen. Through this four-month work placement, the students will have the opportunity to integrate the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a practical work setting. In addition, this placement will further enlighten the students to the range of services and programming made available through community and government-based agencies and organizations which advocate and provide support to groups and/or individuals in need of a social/political/legal voice. Through the application and interview process, the students will be afforded opportunities for personal growth, self-discovery and the development of strategies for a smoother transition from the academic setting and into the professional workplace.
