This course examines the roles, practices and legal constraints of the three major forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR): Arbitration, Negotiation and Mediation. Each of these practices will be explored and assessed in relation to their effectiveness in asserting rights as well as resolving issues, conflicts and competing interests as they arise between individuals and or organizations and or government agencies. Furthermore, the students through a combination of theory, case studies and simulations will be introduced to the requisite skills, traits and techniques to collaborate and creatively generate positive outcomes.
