This course will focus on past and current issues/trends in the interpreting profession. Students will investigate issues such as training and employment opportunities, occupational health and safety, professional qualifications (including appropriateness when accepting assighments) and testing, Bi-modality of service (manual/oral), and Deaf/Hearing teams. Students will use this course also, as a preparation for their two internships during 3rd year. *This course will span the fall and winter semesters.
