Principles Of Interpreting: Asl To English

This course will focus on further enhancement of consecutive interpreting skills. When and how to choose one method over the other will be examined and practiced. Students will progress from brief, basic text samples to those that are more intermediate and challenging. Interpretations will be done mainly from ASL to English or, L2 to L1 (second language to first language). Students will have the opportunity to apply what they learn, practice self-assessment and employ strategies for self-improvement during the scheduled lab sessions.
