This course will examine the interpreting profession in a global context. A thorough examination of the process models will be provided. Learners will also examine the historical evolution of the professional ASL-English interpreter in Canada, the USA and internationally over the last 40 years. Much of the foundational terminology for the profession will be covered. Learners are expected to be able to incorporate the knowledge from this course in application with all other interpreting related courses.
