Pre-Interpreting Skills And Practice

This course is designed to provide the learner with the theory and techniques of the interpreting process. Rationale for and methods of skill building will be covered. Students will focus on the areas of message intake, retention, comprehension and expression. Activities will develop listening, memory and multi-tasking skills. Other topics include:, contextual analysis, text analysis, schema theory, chunking and stamina development during the interpreting process.
