This course contains the elements necessary for students to acquire varied discourse abilities in American Sign Language. Course content will include topics such as language register, language in content, turn taking rules in ASL, pragmatics, discourse styles and conversational performance. Students will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in the scheduled practicum and laboratory sessions.
