This course focuses on the methods and standards by which architects develop a set of building assembly instructions aimed at enabling a contractor to build a project. The course will address the decision-making process required to design architectural assemblies; the codes, ordinances, and standards that relate to architectural construction; the sources commonly used to select and specify materials; the integration of basic structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into the building fabric; and the coordination of all information regarding the building's assembly into a clear and thorough set of construction documents. In addition the appropriate selection of, and the correlating of proprietary products and systems into architectural working drawings will be included.
