Networking II | St. Clair College

This second in a series of three networking courses uses the Cisco Networking Academy Program approved textbook and related web-based materials. This course describes the operation and basic configuration of routers and switches. It also explains the principles of routing and switching, segmenting networks using VLANs, implementing DHCP for IPv4 and IPv6 networks, securing network devices, STP concepts, and Inter-VLAN Routing. Students will analyze, configure, verify, and correct common routing and switching problems. The labs will comprise of basic device configuration steps, implementation, and troubleshooting procedures to reinforce new concepts, and allow students to model and analyze processes that may be difficult to visualize or understand.
