Light Energy-Based Devices for IPL and Laser - Module 1 | St. Clair College

This course focuses on both practical and theoretical applications and assignments, providing a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of light energy-based devices, including IPL, Diode and Laser treatments. The course will include anatomy, skin physiology, as well as the Glocau, Rubin, Lancer, and Fitzpatrick skin typing scales. The participant will be able to identify and apply, Laser placement techniques, device safety, pre and post treatment protocols, client consultations, documentation/photos, consent, charting, indications and contraindications. The participant will manage and apply treatments with energy-based devices specific to non-invasive hair removal, vascular and pigmented lesions, and skin rejuvenation protocols. An emphasis on safety practices and compliances for energy-based devices will be illustrated and adhered to within the course. The course offers online modules and assessments, prior to in lab practical applications.

Mandatory Requirements: Grade 12 English and a Diploma/Degree in Esthetics, Medical Esthetics or Nursing.
