Students to showcase their projects at One Ford event
St. Clair College students will have an opportunity in April to showcase their capstone projects to executives from Ford Motor Company, Air Canada and other local high-tech industries.
The One Ford Capstone Project event will be held virtually and will also feature networking opportunities, speakers and opportunities for mentorship with industry partners.
New program to create huge increase in PSW training
The Ontario government announced funding today for an accelerated Personal Support Worker (PSW) program that will cover students’ tuition and other expenses, allowing participants to graduate with full credentials in six months.
The accelerated program starts April 5 and is expected to produce a huge increase in PSW training at Ontario’s colleges.
Virtual convocation ceremony set to go live
More than 650 graduates will take part in St. Clair College’s second virtual convocation ceremony on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
New transit express route will cut travel times for students on east end
St. Clair College students living on the city’s east side will have a much shorter bus ride to the South campus after the city and College agreed to share the cost of an express route on a trial basis.
Ontario increases mental health funding to support students
The Ontario government is providing a total of $729,389 to help increase access to mental health and addiction services for students enrolled at the various campuses of St. Clair College and the University of Windsor.
College reaches record enrolment for winter term
St. Clair College saw a 21 per cent enrolment increase in its winter 2021 term, with a record 14,225 full-time students studying at all campuses.
That number represents an increase of 2,512 students over last year’s enrolment, and a record high for the College.
Students develop new mobile app in just eight months
St. Clair College students have a new digital tool to help them with everything from building a resume to honing their interview skills, while improving their financial literacy.
The help comes in the form of a website and mobile app created for the school’s Enactus Club by a team of students from the Mobile Applications Development program.
College Reading Week (March 15-19) not cancelled
St. Clair College has not cancelled its reading week, scheduled for March 15-19.
There have been numerous inquiries relating to the College's Reading Week after the Ontario government announced the postponement of March Break for elementary and secondary schools, from the week of March 14, 2021 to the week of April 12, 2021.
