The event, held on March 21 at the Ciociaro Club, drew over 500 attendees, including staff, students, and community members, to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Celebrating the rich history of Black excellence globally and within the Windsor Essex Community, the symposium emphasized the vital importance of racial equity and acceptance in Canada and beyond. Through diverse forms of artistic expression, including poetry, dance, music, breakout sessions, and panel discussions, attendees engaged in racial sensitization and meaningful dialogue. Students had the opportunity to connect with peers from various schools, fostering community and understanding. The event also featured booths showcasing Black-owned businesses from the city and support from local enterprises in the Windsor Essex Area. St. Clair College remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at eradicating racial discrimination and looks forward to continuing its involvement in events that promote inclusivity and diversity in Windsor Essex County.
