More than 650 graduates will take part in St. Clair College’s second virtual convocation ceremony on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
The ceremonies can be watched here, https://www.stclaircollege.ca/convocation/virtual, starting at 3 p.m. They will feature graduates from the schools of Business, Academic Studies, Community Studies, Nursing, Health Sciences, Media, Art and Design, Skilled Trades and Engineering Technologies.
The convocation ceremonies will also include messages from St. Clair College President Patti France, Board of Governors Chair Nancy Jammu-Taylor and Alumni President Andrew Rowberry.
All students were offered the opportunity to submit a slide, with a photo and a quote. Students who received academic awards and those who graduated with academic distinction will also be recognized.
All slides will be available to download once the ceremony is live and they will be available to share on social media.
Graduates and their families are also encouraged to share the ceremony via social media using the hashtag #SCCGrad2021.
"The Convocation sessions we've held during the pandemic have been memorable in an extremely fascinating way," said St. Clair President Patti France. "The official speakers – myself included – are supposed to be sending the graduates off into the world with inspiring messages, but the reverse is true: it is these graduates who have inspired all of us, by pursuing and completing their educations in the midst of a crisis.”
"I hope that the prospective employers of these pandemic-era grads will recognize the extraordinary nature of their achievement in having successfully completed their studies in the midst of so much upheaval. In addition to their knowledge and technical skills, these graduates will bring a rare work-ethic of resilience and perseverance to any job offered to them."
