Parliamentary Assistant Randy Pettapiece (MPP Perth Wellington), recently visited our St. Clair College Centre for the Arts (SCCCA) on behalf of Lisa Thompson, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

He thanked the College, our chefs, kitchen staff, and students for their ongoing effort in supplying food service for one of the Isolation and Recovery Centres (IRC) in Windsor.

The College was contacted on January 11  by the City of Windsor on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross to support the Isolation and Recovery Centre (IRC). The support request was for the preparation and delivery of meals for migrant workers who tested positive for COVID and required a location to recover. Through the SCCCA Catering Program, the College has been providing three meals daily to each guest over a 10-to-14-day period. The distribution of food is being handled through the Canadian Red Cross.

MPP Randy Pettapiece, who was raised in Kingsville, met with St. Clair’s Vice President of Academic, Waseem Habash, and discussed the needs and opportunities in the agricultural sector in our region and the College’s proposed plans for programming and partnership.
