President's message: 30 Seconds to Celebrate Love and Gender Diversity | St. Clair College
Monday, May 17, 2021
the College is endorsing the global "30 Seconds to Celebrate Love and Gender Diversity" initiative on May 17th – the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

There's an old saying that suggests that it takes only one facial muscle to smile but dozens to frown.

I'm not sure if that's true, but the sentiment behind it certainly is. It is much, much easier – and healthier, and more human and humane – to be happily accepting of others than it is to expend the needless stress and illogical anger associated with being intolerant of them.

That's why the College is endorsing the global "30 Seconds to Celebrate Love and Gender Diversity" initiative on May 17th – the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

St. Clair encourages all students and staff to take that precious half-minute any time on the 17th to pause and imagine a world of total tolerance; and to consider how many wonderful, constructive things we could accomplish together if we all put our baseless biases aside to create a universal atmosphere of respect and unity.

If, at the end of that 30 seconds, share a social media post, that would help to spread this message – a message that is essential to both our individual and our community's well-being.

Thank you for your involvement, Saints.
