Free virtual workshops available at Genesis Centre

The Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre at St. Clair College is offering free virtual workshops for everyone in the community.

The range of workshops includes skills development such as presentation, communication and networking skills, and others that focus specifically on helping individuals start and grow a business.

“Well-rounded, highly-developed soft skills can be invaluable to business and personal success.” said  Susan Taylor, Supervisor of the Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre. “Recent world events have illustrated the importance of thinking outside the box, learning to pivot and how creating opportunities has become paramount. The value of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial mindset is more important than ever."

  • One-on-One Mentorship
  • Pitch Competitions

“Our participants come from all walks of life. St. Clair College students, faculty, staff and our community have benefited from the workshops we were delivering within the Genesis Centre” Taylor added.  “Transitioning to a virtual format has increased our reach and capacity exponentially. We’ve recently had participants join us from India, England and Africa. It’s quite remarkable to know we’re helping people, quite literally, around the world.”

“We know that starting and growing a business takes a lot more than business know-how," said Jim Marsh, Dean of the Zekelman School of Business & IT. “At St. Clair College, we provide as many opportunities as we can to help instill complementary skills to help students succeed in whatever path they choose - whether they work for themselves or for someone else.”
