The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has confirmed a single case of COVID-19 at St. Clair College affecting a student who has been attending a lab on campus. This student has also participated in a placement at Windsor Regional Hospital earlier in the week.

Windsor Regional Hospital has been notified about our student case.

Our student was in full PPE when participating in the placement at Windsor Regional Hospital. The student was also on our campus last week participating in a lab wearing full PPE. Staff who are affected in this area of the College have been notified by the school Chair. College students will be contacted by the College or Public Health as their investigation is ongoing at this time.

Numerous protocols and practices have been implemented, including enhanced cleaning protocols, physical distancing, mask wearing and restricted group gatherings. Personal protective equipment has been provided to all students and staff to all the labs, clinics and workshops. The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit continues to be consulted through the implementation of St. Clair’s extensive COVID-19 pandemic plan. St. Clair College continues to enforce its strong regulations, restrictions, practices and safeguards to mitigate the potential transmission of the virus on campus.

St. Clair College will continue to collaborate with Windsor-Essex Health Unit and Windsor Regional Hospital and will keep the community informed during this situation.
