(Sudbury, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Saints women’s volleyball team walked away from the OCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship awards banquet on Friday morning with some significant hardware. The Championship is being hosted by Cambrian College from Friday to Sunday in Sudbury.

Head Coach Jimmy El-Turk was named West Division Coach of the Year, OCAA Coach of the Year and is the OCAA nominee for CCAA Coach of the Year. El-Turk in his 4th season with St. Clair led the Saints to a record of 15-3 which was good for 2nd place in the tough OCAA West Division. The Saints were ranked as high as 9th in Canada and 2nd in Ontario throughout the season.

Second year outside hitter Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby; Sinclair Secondary) was named a 1st Team All Star. She was also named the West Division Scoring Champion. In 18 regular season matches played she averaged 4.8 points/set and had 297 total points; both first overall in the OCAA. Stephenson was also first in kills/set averaging 3.75 with a total of 230 kills. She also had 47 service aces, 20 stuff blocks and 142 digs.

Fourth year Libero Julie Ann Milling (Woodstock; Woodstock Collegiate) was also named a 1st Team All-Star. In 18 regular season matches played she took part in 61 sets. She ended up 2nd in the OCAA with 209 total digs and 4th in digs/set averaging 3.44. She also chipped in with 34 assists.

Fifth your middle Jessica Masse (Cottam; Essex District) earned 2nd Team All-Star recognition. In 17 matches played she took part 58 sets. She had 91 kills and had a .326 hitting percentage. Masse also had 18 stuff blocks, 17 service aces and 25 digs.
