(Sarnia, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team managed to squeak out a 53-47 road win over Lambton College in Sarnia Wednesday night and moved their record to 5-2 in the OCAA’s West Division.

The ball must have seemed larger than usual as a low scoring affair ensued from the start. Lambton took an anemic 8-7 lead after the opening quarter but St. Clair answered in the second quarter for a 23-22 at the halftime intermission. Lambton had their best quarter in the third outscoring St. Clair 15-10 and at one point held an 8-point advantage. But the Saints were game for the fight and in the fourth quarter scored 19 points for their best showing of the game when it mattered most. St. Clair forced 33 Lambton turnovers scoring 23 points in reply and were 2nd chance points leaders by a count of 18-2.

2nd year guard Anna Ulicny (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne) led the Saints in scoring with 16 points with teammate Jana Kucera (Chatham, ON) dropping 13 points to go with 8 rebounds. In nice effort in her hometown Keirsten Tomkins (Sarnia, ON) reached double figures scoring 11 points and narrowly missed a double-double with 9 rebounds adding 7 steals for the Saints.
