(Scarborough, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Men’s Cross Country team ran away with the Gold Medal at the OCAA Provincial Championship Saturday afternoon placing their four scoring runners in the top 10 overall finishers. The St. Clair Men are ranked #4 in the recent Canadian College poll and will surely have a chance to medal at the upcoming National Championships being hosted by Seneca College at their King City campus on Nov. 10th.

St. Clair rookie runner Thador Tekhli (Chatham, ON) ran his best race of the season finishing in 4th place in a time of 27:40 over the 8km trail at the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus Field. With the finish Tekhli claimed the OCAA’s Rookie of the Year Award. In what must have seemed like a training run the other Saints scoring runners were not far behind including Rick Nepomuceno (5th Place, 27:42.3), Tyler Jones (6th Place, 27:45) and Andre Tomasian (9th Place, 27:52). Tyler Tofflemire (36th Place, 29:51) and Jack Porter (53rd Place, 31:21) also competed for the Saints in a field of 100 runners.

The St. Clair Women finished in 7th Place out of the 14 OCAA schools registered also qualifying as a team for the CCAA National Championship. Beth Horrobin (Wallaceburg, ON) led the Lady Saints finishing in 21st place with a time of 26:31 over the 6km loop in a field of 81 runners. Aryana Cirino (22nd Place, 26:34), Jessica Hodgkin (32nd Place, 27:06), Nicole Desrosiers-Michienzi (36th Place, 27:10), Hannah Cirino (40th Place, 27:58) and Samantha Boussey (45th Place, 28:34) were the other finishers for the Saints.
